922 S5 Proxy Shut Down: What Happened & Replacements

If you're here, you already know the symptoms: the 922 S5 client won't connect, the domains won't load, tickets hang unanswered. This is not "maintenance." We checked the service's infrastructure — and this article covers, honestly, what happened, what to do about a stuck balance, and where to move if your workflow was built on pay-per-IP SOCKS5.

What happened to 922 S5

We ran the known 922 domains through checks: sites don't respond, domain registrations are expiring or expired, and the client app can't reach its auth servers. The service never announced a shutdown — it simply stopped responding, exactly like Pia S5 and a dozen other S5 services in the 2024–2025 wave. The pattern is always the same: an S5 service lives as long as its IP pool lives; when the pool dies, everything dies, silently.

Can you recover your balance

Realistically — no. The dashboard is unreachable, support doesn't exist, and there's no legal entity to claim against. If you paid by card recently, try a chargeback through your bank. If you paid in crypto, treat it as tuition: never keep a large prepaid balance in an S5 service. Top up for a week or two of work, no more.

Warning: fake "mirrors" and "922 is back" scams

After any well-known service dies, clones appear: "official 922 mirror," "922 v2," Telegram bots "with your old balance." These are scammers harvesting logins and deposits from orphaned users. Check domain registration dates (fresh domain = fake) and never enter your old credentials anywhere.
