PyProxy Not Working? What's Happening in August 2026 + Where Users Are Going
If PyProxy stopped responding, the dashboard won't load or your proxies died mid-session — it's not your setup. As of August 2026, PyProxy is going dark, and the pattern is one we've seen four times this year already.
Update (August 10, 2026): following the shutdown, the original PYPROXY team officially handed the project over to ProxyUniverse. The domain pyproxy.com now hosts the official service status, the balance policy, and a migration guide for former users — including a warning about fake "PYPROXY client downloads" that are circulating with malware inside.
What's happening with PyProxy
PyProxy is part of the IPIDEA network family — the same ecosystem behind 922 S5, PIA S5, LunaProxy, ABCProxy and IP2World. That ecosystem has been collapsing brand by brand since Google's takedown in January 2026. In August 2026, PyProxy users started reporting the familiar sequence: login failures, dead proxies, silent support.
We tracked the same arc with every sister brand: first intermittent outages, then a "maintenance" claim, then the site never comes back. No exceptions so far.
Can you recover your PyProxy balance?
Based on how 922, PIA S5 and IP2World ended: realistically, no. Once the storefront dies, there is nothing to claim a balance from. Two warnings:
Don't top up now hoping to "use it up before it dies" — deposits are the first thing to stop working properly.
